I think you should speak to more pro life people. The ones I know are all against the death penalty and absolutely agree with abortion to save a women's life. In fact that is the official policy of the Catholic Church and catholic hospitals.

Women are bleeding out and going septic in Catholic hospitals the same as they are in non Catholic hospitals.

Show me one case of a woman dying in an American catholic hospital because of lack of an abortion.

This is just what I wish they would do to improve messaging - speak to those of us who don’t see abortion as a black and white issue - like I said, untapped demographic.

This is the fundamental disconnect you will never understand because you don't make an effort to. Prolife people have the sincerely held belief that abortion is about TWO people, not just the woman involved. You can say that this is just the patriarch wanting to keep women pregnant in the kitchen, but all that tells me is that you don't know any prolife people and have never engaged with them, because that's not how they think.

Because for a lot of women, the correct reaction to their abortion was to deem theirs special and different and not at all sinful and then to get back out on the picket line and scold other women for having theirs.

Give up OP. Your fellow Democrats only see red in this user and cannot think logically or emphatically. You have people out there messaging how proud they are of their abortions. It is one thing for abortion to be legal. Quite another to be proud. The messaging is so far gone it is an echo chamber. They are not at all trying to find a middle ground/consensus.

In other words, here’s an example of what that messaging can look like:

“As Americans, we are extremely diverse in our values and religious beliefs. That’s what this country was founded on. Abortion and family planning is a deeply personal matter, and it should not be dictated by politicians. Whether you are pro-abortion, anti-abortion, or somewhere in the middle, you should be able to make the decision that is right for you. Therefore, abortion should be legal, safe, and rare.”

Very few of us see abortion itself as a black and white issue, and that’s why we believe that regulating it with conditions that vary from state to state and are mostly based on religious beliefs is a black and white issue. It’s not anyone’s business outside of any particular woman and her healthcare provider.
