MC-Rockville - the Montgomery College graduation is held in an air-conditioned tent the week before Memorial day. Tent covers the entire athletic field and has 3000 seats plus open area in the back 1/3 of the tent with tables and space for catering. Big stage, full AV set-up, nice trailer restrooms, overflow seating in the theater, tons of parking.
Gaithersburg, Rockville, RM, Wootton all in adjacent neighborhoods.
QO, Northwest, Seneca Valley, Watkins Mill also have good access.
MCPS already has a partnership with MC - they should explore sharing the costs of keeping that rental set-up an additional week or so and crank out 8 graduations there the T-F after Memorial Day.
Great idea. Throw in Clarksburg and Damascus. That’s the budget for 10 schools graduation. They should be able to make that work.

Anonymous wrote:Why did MCPS pick UMBC? Is it because of graduates who are planning to go to UMBC for a 4-year college?

That is actually not a bad idea.
My only concern would be parking, but then again metro is just a few blocks around the corner.
