I drink coffee on planes all the time. It’s best to live a little, throw caution to the wind, build up your immunity, and you’re most likely going to be ok. If you saw what went on behind the scenes at most restaurant kitchens, you would never eat out.

Yeah, so gross. My colleague got food poisoning on a KLM flight last year. I refuse to eat anything on a plane that isn't shelf-stable. Like I'll snack on the packaged cookies or a bar or something, but no "hot" food. And I've heard to never drink the coffee also.

They are usually on the younger side? I used to look forward to seeing what food I would get on the plane. Now in my 50s and much better off, money-wise, I dread the airplane food.

Same. In the 70s I flew quite a bit as a kid. My grandparents knew about ordering special meals. It was an IYKYK kind of thing. So yeah, I've been fascinated with airline meals since childhood as well.
They were string at you because no one in their right mind eats seafood on a plane.

Me too. It’s part of the adventure of flying somewhere new and learning about a different culture. The food served on the plane is often a small taste of what’s to come.
Well if you fly from IAD to Paris, the food comes from the IAD kitchens. It's the taste of where you've been not where you're going.

I must say that we had very enjoyable food during our flight last year on Virgin airlines from London. They had good food and all kinds of fun snacks, including popsicles and Tea In A Box, which was surprisingly delightful and tasty. First time I found myself stuffed after a flight, lol. They were constantly coming down the aisle with food and beverages, and this was the normal coach class cheap seats.
Haven't you seen the movie Airplane where everyone who are fish starts vomiting?
