Same. In the 70s I flew quite a bit as a kid. My grandparents knew about ordering special meals. It was an IYKYK kind of thing. [/b]I'd be flying alone as a little kid and everyone else would be getting rubbery chicken and they'd bring me this amazing shrimp cocktail platter or something and everyone would stare and be jealous. So yeah, I've been fascinated with airline meals since childhood as well.

Me too. It’s part of the adventure of flying somewhere new and learning about a different culture. The food served on the plane is often a small taste of what’s to come.

I must say that we had very enjoyable food during our flight last year on Virgin airlines from London. They had good food and all kinds of fun snacks, including popsicles and Tea In A Box, which was surprisingly delightful and tasty. First time I found myself stuffed after a flight, lol. They were constantly coming down the aisle with food and beverages, and this was the normal coach class cheap seats.
