Doesn't have to be over the top though. Think pirate themed party and a treasure chest full of dollar store / party city booty for 7 and unders. Could be filled with anything. Also great times for the ride home.


Anything plastic from the dollar store is total junk and don't let my kids take it. You can avoid being over the top while also not giving out landfill garbage.

I always give snacks in the goody bags.

Goldfish, Pringles, Piirate's booty, Rice Krispy bars. Then add one ring pop or fruit by the foot.

I’m fine with favors as long as they are not the cheap plastic junk. Don’t waste your money on that - a cookie, candy, hair ties, a book, even a notebook and pen, will all get used.

This year, we had a painting party and the painting was their favor.

This. I try to be creative but simple. When my DD was in K, she had a princess themed party where everyone dressed as a Disney princess. I have out little golden books on theme that were $3.99 each.

We give out objects related to the party— pool party every kid got a noodle and some reusable balloons and a beach ball. Anyone who didn’t need/want them didn’t have to take one, and there were plenty of extras for siblings.

Be a parent and tell them they can't have all the candy immediately and they need to save someone of it for later.
