Yes- many of us 40 something swiftie foo fighter fans are very confused and disappointed.

There's more to it... they were both performing in London the same weekend. He has praised her in the past. She sold out Wembley and he had a half full stadium. In the middle of his show, he very clearly insinuated that she doesn't perform a live show, which made people wrong assume that she lip synchs. He called his show the "errors tour" because they are live and make errors. Why would he do that?

Taylor's tour has already been called the "Errors Tour" by her fans because of the funny bloopers and mess-ups, so that is nothing new.

It was weird of him to imply her band is not playing live.

I think it was an intentional diss. Swifties went after his daughter with death threats and doxxing when she rightly called out Taylor’s hypocritical excessive use of private jet while also preaching about being environmentally conscious.

I find it odd because a friend knows him and only has nice things to say and he and Taylor have had a good relationship over the years.

Her fans were absolutely wrong for the attacks on his daughter. However, his daughter is quite the hypocrite since her family has used private jets to get places her whole life. It’s not like Dave flew to London on a commercial flight either. It also was interesting timing since his lead guitarist was sitting in the VIP tent at Wembley literally the night before as an invited guest of Taylor and having a great time.

Basically Grohl tried to make a joke about all the errors they had at his concert due to "being live" but he tried to make it a play on word because of Taylor's "eras" tour.

He said "at least we are live" since Taylor has a track played behind her non-acoustic/non-piano music.

I think it was a joke that landed badly.

Taylor the next night said she wanted to thank her band for playing live for 3 1/2 hours, which is very impressive but the Foo fighters do play close to 3 hours.

It falls into the "it's not that deep" territory.

My understanding is her fans came after his teenage daughter in their typically toxic way after the daughter criticized Taylor’s private plane use, advocating that she be killed, SA’d, etc. I don’t think that sat well.

For context, Grohl has a pretty hilarious video from years ago talking about being high at Paul McCartney’s and his gratitude for Taylor saving him with an impromptu “Best of You” riff on the piano.

But also, Dave talks A LOT during his concerts. This had more of an off-the-cuff cracking an inside joke vibe than anything actually malicious. More like a "isn't rock n roll so much better than pop?!!?" type of rhetorical question
