Not in DC so we have a pool, but thankfully don’t have to “go”. Friday night 330-8 or so. It was at least 9am-6pm both days sat/Sun, aside from snack breaks. It’s exhausting just supervising because I can’t get anything done.

Oh, and she has had friends over since before 4 today.

Yay summer.

Op - older kids go off with friends. If their friends aren’t there they find other kids to play with. Sometimes they play with each other or come find me.

Youngest kid (4 years old) will go off the diving board or slide non stop till he passes out.

Is this a long winded way of bragging that a four year old uses the diving board?

DP here. Doesn't sound remotely like a brag to me. Are you hypersensitive about your child's lack of swimming skills?

No but this post is weird and competitive. Who cares what other people are doing like this? There were a bunch of comments to that effect last night that have since disappeared!

Op - I think the only posts that have disappeared are the ones who are wishing that my kids get skin cancer.

And no I am not bragging about my kid. Someone asked what they do at the pool for hours. That is what they do. They swim and jump and go down the slide.

My kids are still nappers (4 and almost 3). We hit the pool for 2 hours Saturday morning and the splash pad for 2 hours Sunday morning.

I went back to the pool Saturday afternoon/early evening while my husband handled nap/snack/playtime at home (we have A/C).

Love hot days at the pool!!

I have a 4 year old. I have pool toys. I get in and play with her. There’s a playground so she’ll go and swing. She’ll play with other kids. We eat lunch. Time flies. She is so happy, I have to drag her out.

About 2 hours each day, all in the evenings. Our pool is small and gets full shade after about 4pm. We ate dinner there twice, which was delightful.

Zero time in the heat of the day though.
