STA sent about 8 this year. My understanding is that NCS girls did not apply ED (and ED is needed from any of these schools.

at our nyc private, UChicago gets 0-2 a year. most kids prefer to roll the dice with SCEA/EA/RD with other top 20s. But the kids who do apply ed1 tend to get in. RD is a non-starter so you have to really love i

UChicago accepts a bunch of students from some top private schools throughout the country, but DC only has two such schools. If you are at Maret, Landon, and even NCS, you will not receive the feeder school treatment.

What are you confused about? Most people attending, let along applying, do not have 1600s. GPAs are meaningless so not worthy of comment.

ah... my bad. Should've said... as with the 90% applying with a 3.75-4.0 GPA and 99% 1400+ SATs. Apologies for not being precise.

Honors are the lower college prep track, so of course you’ll have trouble without that.

The area is dangerous however.

Is the area really more dangerous than, say, the area around JHU? This is not the OP, but on paper, this U.Chicago sounds perfect for my kid's personality and interests. But as a parent, the safety of the campus and surrounding area is really important.

JHU is worse by far than the area around UChicago

By far? Sounds like you haven't lived in Hyde Park and Bmore like me. Hyde Park is worse factually.

Both have issues.

When was a Chicago student murdered recently? On or close to campus?

Well JHU hasn’t had any students murdered lately. Can’t say the same about UC.

I think Baltimore is currently worse than around Oniversity of Chicago.
