I have tinnitus from wearing headphones and I've looked into this a bit. I'm 100% convinced all musicians have tinnitus, hearing loss, and messed up ears. Ears are like eyes - just as delicate and irreplaceable - once they're gone they're gone. We know intuitively to protect our eyes but somehow not our ears.

I've always wondered this. I think earplug tech is pretty good now, but people from back in the day surely have some damage, especially the rockers who were too cool to care.

Taylor Swift wears in-ear-monitors that filter sound/volume and also have a metronome-like count to help keep dance moves on the beat. I assume most performers these days have similar.

Phil Collins as well. Lily Collin’s has spoken about this during interviews.
