Do they have a reading specialist?
Yes, the have a wonderful reading specialist for the lower school. The school has also indicated that for the upcoming school year McLean Speech will oversee comprehensive Orton Gillingham reading intervention services.

What kind of supports would your child require? Does your child require OT & Speech during the school day?
Would you prefer that there be a person who is certified in your child's area of disability in the class with them each day, or is a general education certificated teacher all that your child needs?
Does the child have direct support in pre-K?
The public school may send someone to work with your child in their private, or they may allow you to bring your child to what would be their public school to receive the services to which they are entitled under IDEA, or they may force to sign paperwork that says by enrolling in a Catholic School, you are refusing the services they are offering (but they will keep your child on their books and keep the funding). This is the choice we made for our child in 9th grade. It was the right one (to attend a Catholic high school and pay out of pocket for support). The public school offered consultative services (quarterly check ins), but not in-person help. I don't regret it, but every child is different. What student to teacher ratio is ideal? What are their goals?
