Subject: If your kids live in different towns, how do you do father's day?
Why are people so pedantic? It's Father's Day! Not "Father's day for the 0-18 crowd."
How hard is it to send a card and call or FT him? Esp if it makes him happy? As parents age, they still view you as their child, they miss seeing you, they need family. . . . and you want to not do that because . . . ??????

Phone calls? One kid is in Seattle, one is in DC, parents are in LA. We get together when it is convenient to do so or when there is a need, not for random minor holidays.

This. If the kids live in different towns, dad is no longer actively parenting. For me, Mother's Day and Father's Day are for celebrating the parents who are currently in the trenches. I do call or text my dad and sometimes send a $25 gift card to a bookstore near his house, but that's it.
Of course they need your company more after you are gone…
If they need your company Then definitely don’t wait to do it on this one day. get together whenever it’s convenient or make a point to do it. Then just Call and say HFD on Father’s Day
