I'd be sincerely curious for some specific examples of this.
When I peek at the conversation in the anti-Wilson, anti-development circles, I regularly see a lot of vitriol, sarcasm, disdain, and not a few conspiracy theories. Compared to this, the AlxDems crowd is sunshine and rainbows
Oh come on. Take a look at any AlxNow article. We also know who those guys are. Or some of Justin’s FB posts (which seems to be full a vitriol in both sides.
Also the number of times I have seen that circle question Amy’s intelligence or integrity (on the dias no less!!) is astounding. If that was reversed the AlxDem contingent would lose their minds.

As someone who has attended dozen if not hundreds of Alexandria Dem events, the veiled misogyny for Amy and her weight is grotesque amongst the inner circle. If they aren't calling her fat, they are calling her stupid.
But they all sit silent about Alyia's alcoholic, felon husband. It's pathetic, frankly.

It’s disgusting.
It sounds like Peterson has effectively pulled out of the race as he’s in CO and not even returning for the election. I hope he didn’t siphon too many Jackson votes
Anonymous wrote:Unrelated (?) WHAT is the deal with Peterson??? I have heard so many rumors today and I can't seem to find a straight answer!

Not sure which grievances you're talking about. Amy has been an outlier on the council in pandering to the loud anti-everything minority; indulging their "there wasn't enough notice" claims on ZFH when the process went on for a year with umpteen meetings was just the latest. It's in contrast to Chapman, who may vote against upzoning or development, but doesn't insult our intelligence by echoing bad-faith claims in the process.

Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Wow, you are projecting a lot into a pretty straightforward statement. But since you seem to support Jackson, I'd suggest making a positive case for her election on the merits.
I clarified below.
But I do stand by my comment about the toxicity of some local Dems.

Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote: PP - sorry I see that Silberg actually endorsed her (not sure she wanted that endorsement). I took this as some backhanded comment falsely linking Jackson to that toxic BIBA group.
I would agree that Jackson is not as closely associated with BIBA as Silberberg was in 2021. However, among current council members and certainly among current mayoral candidates, she does have a history of airing their grievances in council meetings (see: attempt to halt the Seminary Road diet after passage, citing FB pictures; raising bad-faith "there wasn't a mailer" process complaints in attempting to pull SFH re-zoning from ZFH). If anything, she appears to try to have it both ways, trying to be on all sides of issues to appease various groups.
