When they started to have the ability to be selective. Covid really helped the school, and the failing publics continue to do Bullis a favor for those that can afford it.
More applicants for less spots=more selective

Apparently, even its detractors acknowledge this. It has nothing to do with the Director of Admissions (amazing though he has been) - it's the approach of the board, and clearly, that has changed dramatically over the last four years. The school is almost unrecognizable. Poor teachers have been let go or left because they don't like the new standards. That's OK. Change is hard. But the prospective and current parents like it - they are applying in droves and staying once they are in. Hence, it is more competitive.

My child was in tears the last day of school because they found out their favorite teacher was leaving. Every single teacher my child had in lower school has left…which is crazy to me because they were fantastic and helped my child be the confident learner that they are today.
We are currently researching other privates, as we are witnessing the school implode. The decisions being made at the top are questionable and while Gerald Boarman was problematic, at least it felt like he cared about the students and finding amazing teachers.
You are such a bad liar. Why would your child be in tears? He/she wasn’t going to have this alleged favorite teacher next year even if the teacher was staying.
Just another obvious lie posted by a very small group of former disgruntled employees posing as parents. No one believes you. Troll better.
