Maybe it's just me but making pasta = fun, eating said pasta = booooooooo
First, you have to be a fairly good cook to begin with to get it right - and even with that - LOTS of practice. Everyone says it's so easy, and I get it - with gadgets and things it's easy to make something that looks like great pasta and yes, it's can be great. But tbh, it's so overhyped to me. There are a few pastas that taste good homemade like maybe a cavatappi but for me, it's always too something - too doughy, too weirdly textured, too much time, too gummy - something. Give me some store bought "fresh pasta" or good ole Barilla anyday.
But again - may be my skills. All that to say, if you don't already know how to do this well - I'd hold off on trying to impress a date. It's a good date night activity though to do together.
