Last year half of a certain years selection was keepers! Good for your kid. They tend to do well.

My GK just got the invite. (MD ODP) Is this really a competitive invite, or do a high percentage of players (or GKs) get to go? What exactly do they do that weekend? Is it basically just a tryout for the inter-regional event in Florida?

Have you heard anything since that 2010 notified?

Congrats to him and you! This is a good confidence builder and more importantly a lesson to him that hard work will have a reward.

For those who did not get a regional invite, remember that this is all subjective at the end of the day, the opinion of a couple scouts and based mostly just 1 day's performance.

Every player who participated this pastbwknd has amazing potential.
The ones who will make it from here on out are tge ones who work hardest.

If you didnt make it, use that as fuel to work even harder.

I wonder why they can't just send out a blast email to say "Invitations have been sent, if you didn't receive one, thanks for your participation this season." So at least you know your status.

If you have to drive 45 minutes to Atlantic City or Cherry Hill you might as well drive 2 hours home and sleep in your own bed. They grass is nice. The guy makes a killing. I think the place is on a 3 year rotation (you cant grow the grass thick enough in 1 year to sell it). ODP was fun. The only people that seem to be against it are the clubs that lose out on the money that people are spending on ODP instead of being on some big club's C team. It is what you make out of it. If you have a lot of conflicts (NJ does 8am Sunday morning practices to try and prevent conflicts) then I can see it not worth the money. But my kid got to go to games in VA, MD, PA, NJ and NY. It was a nice "sampling" of what joining a big name club would be like and she REALLY enjoyed it.

My guy, why aren't U-turns and left turns disallowed - that's my only complaint

YES!! WHY CANT YOU TURN LEFT IN NJ?!?!

And why can't you pump your own gas?

Interesting. Our team practiced Monday nights at 7:30 an hour away from most, and only played MD and VA friendlies. That was it. I don’t think the coaches even know my kids name.
