Actually, I look at it quite differently.

When someone exhibits a pattern of engaging in trolling behavior, I cannot imagine a larger red flag that I'm dealing with someone incapable of enriching my life experience in any way.
If that's his calling card, it sounds like he provides a terrible fit for a legislator representing millions, not just "the constituents near Pittsburg" (as referenced by another poster at 13:04 above).
The flag antic was disgusting - I would have had zero problems with him being detained that night for a psych hold and MH evaluation.

Now he denies it and expects us to ignore what we saw with our own eyes. Throughout the campaign he practically bragged that his wife had originally been an undocumented immigrant. She was his biggest asset and practically carried on the campaign single-handily while he was hospitalized. Now he sides with the Republicans on immigration. She has essentially disappeared from Twitter and other social media.
The idea that he had no idea what position progressives hold until recently is ludicrous. He campaigned along with them.
I guess you can go along with the poster above and simply write him off as another cynical politician who sells himself to the highest bidder. I think I am actually doing him a favor by attributing the changes to his medical condition.

I have no qualms with Jeff's quip other than he called Fetterman a "conservative."
But really, I do not see Fetterman as a conservative. He's a pro-labor Democrat, which has always turned a skeptical eye toward immigration and free trade. Fetterman is stridently pro-Israel, which makes sense given his nearby constituency in Pittsburgh and the shocking Tree of Life massacre. Radicalized Islamic terrorism is a cancer to anyone who wants to uphold liberal values and society.
Fetterman is still strongly supportive of LBGTQ folks and legalization of marijuana. Vociferously supports a woman's right to choose. He also strongly supports fracking, which makes sense given the importance to the local economy of western PA.
So yeah, he's not a typical Democrat. But that's OK. He's his own person.

Maybe his time in the Senate - where he can see the work of progressives up close and personal - has caused him to change his mind about the policies.

For someone who invokes empathy and humanity to explain your stance on the Hamas/Israel conflict, this rings pretty hypocritical and just downright ugly. And that's coming from someone who struggles a lot with the politics and rhetoric of conservatism as a whole.
