Agree. It's no different than buying canned beans or hamburger patties. No one wants to cook the beans or butcher a cow for it.

I don't think they are a problem as an occasional meal. There is usually one in my freezer. Might sit there for months but if I need to eat and be out in 10 minutes...it takes care of eating.

I take into the office for lunch. I go in less frequently now, so eat less of them, but only because of telework.

My teens would eat them as a quick/meal snack on occasion.

In our 20s we lived off frozen meals. I didn't learn to cook until I was 28.
There is still one frozen meal we buy...chicken parmesan patties. The kids love it and it's easy for weeknights. I don't eat it though.

in 1997 I was in a step class with the same ladies all of the time. One of them worked for one of the companies that develops and sells them and told me that the reason they are so salty is because the people in all of the marketing reviews are these elderly people and their tastebuds are less sharp and they keep asking for more salt in the product.

Yes, it's a staple for us with 2 large boys in my house.

Gamelli's Italian Market has the best frozen meals.

I've never tried the ones at the grocery store but I think my son buys mac and cheese and pot pie from Costco when he is at college for his house. Are those frozen idk, i don't do costco

I am with you, OP. I also don’t get the huge amount of prepared food people buy. Tired of people lecturing me about the occasional hot dog when they mostly reheat Costco garbage.

+1 I cringe at the sodium content but yep.

My family has not, in years. The only exception is DH and DS will have a pot pie rarely.
