I’m actually not angry about bike shorts. I’m sad that we live in a society which is increasingly narcissistic and entitled. Everyone’s attitude seems to be “if it feels good do it!” with zero care or concern for anyone or anything else. Personally I don’t feel like this is progress.

And the “too big to fit in them?” comment is indicative of a lack of basic intelligence and maturity. We’re moving closer and closer to making Idiocracy a reality.

I wear sports bra and leggings sometimes running errands or whatever because I don't want to change before/after the gym. I am in good shape these days and I like being able to do so confidently while I can.

These women LOVE attention. That’s it. That’s the only reason to go out and about in public in the equivalent of underwear.

Disagree. Many can be they just DON’T care so they wear what is appropriate for the weather and that may be sports bra/tank and bike shorts. Same applies to guys who take shirts off playing sports are not always about the attention either. Same applies to larger men and women that wear swimsuits others think are “not appropriate” for their size. Life too short, wear what want and move on.

I’ve never seen a man without a shirt in a grocery store, on the metro, or even just casually strolling down the street. We’re not talking about wearing your exercise clothes to actually exercise in this thread.

I posted in the other thread that I do this regularly. I mostly WFH and wear workout clothes (leggings and sports bra) as my outfit for the day. When I leave my apartment for a walk or a run, I stop at Whole Foods or run other random errands, like the bank or CVS or returns. If it’s chilly out, I’ll throw a light workout jacket over it. On days like today I don’t bother.

Nobody cares or pays me any mind. I probably see 5-10 women dressed more skimpily every time I’m out.

+1 Also, how it is styled. I see twenty- somethings in California with full faces of make-up and blown out hair wearing matching bra and shorts sets-that have the ruching down the center of butt to maximize assets- this is just the normal preening and posturing of a fertile young woman. Same clothing and message but different vibe entirely from sporty college girls who are actually exercising. After your 20s, put a t shirt on over it. Even if you look good, you appear desperate and Hilaria Baldwin-ish in revealing exercise clothes in public.

You should try it and see for yourself. Consider it character building. IME, around northern virginia and esp the area where I live with like 5 supermarkets in proximity to at least 3 large gyms, it's NBD. No one cares.

A very curvy, heavy, or large busted woman wearing right or revealing clothing is viewed differently than a slim, small busted woman in the same clothing. People judge by other characteristics too, because people are terrible. Lizzo and Gwyneth Paltrow are gonna get different reactions in Beyond's new line.

Just yesterday I was at a stoplight in my car and noticed a young woman wearing leggings and a tube top. I then saw an elderly gentleman on a bike turn around and gape at her and he nearly fell off his bike, (and wasn't wearing a helmet, so that was concerning).
