There will be more than one. It’s in the wave with “Olive” and “Penelope” for me.

DH and I can't decide on a name and I'm going to bat for this one. DH loves Olivia, Maddie, Lilly, and Sophia he loves a top 10 girls name.

So far he has hard vetoed Elizabeth, Katherine, Sabrina, Naomi and Rebecca

Nice!

That's what I was going to suggest, since he likes Maddie, sell Matilda using "Mattie".

+1 I love this

You could even do Maddie as a nn for Matilda.

I like it.

The bummer is that I love all your suggestions except for Naomi.

I don't love his suggestions.

Matilda is more old-lady cool, but it's familiar. Any interest in "Mattie" as a nickname? (I prefer Tilly, but Mattie could be a compromise.)

Love it, but I’m biased since it’s DD’s name! We don’t use a nickname.

Love it. It’s on our list for a second daughter. We know a Tilly, and a Mattie, and a Matilda crossing several generations.

Unless you’re Australian, don’t.

And every Aussie knows that “Tilda” will be called dildo

Great name - bridges trendy (your DH’s preference) and classic (your preference), nice meaning and namesakes, popular in the UK but not yet in the US.
