Workday might've started in HR, but it's been slowly moving into the higher education market (entire student lifecycle) for the past 10 years or so. I think many schools are looking at it as a replacement for aging PeopleSoft/Oracle systems.

I will say it sounds like housing issues at Georgetown are poorly managed. Condition of dorms, mold, responses to issues - and even room selection.
For example, they scheduled room selection time slots for rising sophomores on the same day as their course registration for sophomore fall. So MANY found themselves with the same time slot to log in for the competitive time-sensitive processes of choosing a room and for getting courses. That train wreck seems like something that was easy to avoid....

But given the state of the endowment, their poorly maintained facilities, and previous student reports, you can't possibly be surprised.
