Disneyland had lines from hell. Nope, hate hate hate lines. For a full day we got maybe 4-5 rides with massive lines.

This is not fun. Do they place a cap of number of people allowed at one time? They must, but whatever it is, the number is too high for me.

If you are just talking about Disneyland for the day, stop going in the summer or hot times. I went in January once and it was great. Sun was out, not too hot, low crowds.

This. The obsessed adults ruin it for kids. So many of them have the DAS pass, go all the time, skip the lines, and make little kids who are maybe there for the first time have to stand and endure the lines when they already have so little patience. I mean why not go all the time when you barely have to wait in line and can ride as often as you want, that's the entitled attitude. Hopefully the new rules make it a better experience for everyone, especially kids.

Ds (and DH and I) much preferred cape canaveral. We won’t return, and we will not feed the Disney machine.

Having said that, my kids enjoyed it. But they much prefer the Disney cruise which is much more fun without dealing with lines.

I am an adult who went to Disney for the first time last year with older kids. The rides are beautiful. We enjoyed it (so op, I am not your target demographic but the pp summarizes well why someone wouldn’t enjoy it). It’s about expectations and attitude. we didn’t set a goal of going on every single ride, or waking up early to being there at the rope drop, and our kids were older, so we didn’t have to deal with cranky tired overstimulated pre-schoolers.

I went to Disney as a kid and hated it. And took my kids when they were early elementary school and I hated it.

Huge amount of money to spend waiting in long long lines in gross humidity for underwhelming rides surrounded by weird adults who were excited that there was a Mickey Mouse shape somewhere.

We were Dvc members who adored our nearly 12 years of visits but stopped when it became so difficult to plan. The genies, picking rides and even what to eat at meals so far in advance just became too much. I don’t want to be on my phone on vacation or have to pay up for a private guide.

My kid and dh love Disney and hate the beach. Sounds like it’s just not your kids thing.

The people I know who loved it had SN or mobility challenged kids who got passes where the family didn’t need to wait in line. Rules have since changed because so many gamed the system.

Long lines, large crowds and oppressive heat don't make for a fun experience. I had fun there when I was a kid, but that time is long gone. Take them someplace different OP, like the beach or mountains.
