If someone lives in VA there is no reason to go to NC State if they get into VT.

If a student lives in MD and wants to study engineering then NC State is a fine choice.

NC state has some great programs Ag yes, but also Textiles. People on this board probably have no idea what a great program the school of Textiles is.

NC state is also huge for intramuals as well for students that enjoy that.

I would not recommend NC State for minorities as it is very white and Christian. Yes there is a Hillel but it is small.

The ski & snow board club is fabulous. And the Business fraternity (not a traditional frat) is great for networking.

NC State is the same as most of the other OOS schools this board touts besides IVIES. Dumb to do out of state tuition if one gets into any of the instate schools. Perfectly fine for instate students.

Once Project 2025 is installed none of this will matter NCSTATE will not be a place for women for sure. Why did I add this, because students who go to college in 2024 are in for a rude awakening if Republicans win by 2025 so OOS schools should be chosen with caution. Not that we won't have national bans, it will be more about interstate travel and religious gobbledygook in college curriculums.

This is not true. My son is considering NCSU because they offer a major that’s not offered at any Virginia schools.
