This is very community dependent and yours is a “big city”/urban answer. In smaller communities people often have no choice but to see a therapist they may already know from another context and it’s not considered unethical. That’s just the supply there is.
Someone in the same Bible study group should not be your therapist. It doesn’t matter how small the town is.
