i thought this was likely. My senior knew some kids that applied to over 20 schools. I think they were all panicked after what happened the last couple of years, so there were increased ED applications, plus increased applications overall for those who didn't ED. Plus the FAFSA mess had a lot of people holding onto admits longer than usual waiting on the numbers.

Had a senior last year and one this year - MUCH more movement this year. Oldest child didn't have a single friend, didn't hear of anyone who got off a waitlist. This year - quite a few!

A lot of wait lists moving now that public’s are moving. Of course you go to a school like UNC/Michigan etc etc over most privates for excellent education and cheaper costs.

Are those coming of WLs mostly from public or private?

Emory is the best school and T25, in probably the best college cities after Boston. This shouldn't be surprising at all.

I’ve never thought of Atlanta as a college city. And yes, I have lived there.

Any Princeton yet? There was only the one 'fictitious kid' on reddit May 1st, but haven't read or heard of anyone getting off their WL so far this year.
