I am curious which coach this is. My son plays for Achilles and genuinely all the coaches are fantastic. They do push them. There aren’t that many coaches so we know them all fairly well.

They only have at best two teams in each age and promise the ability for promotion to MLS next for the second teamers. I've never seen it happen

There are multiples age divisions with 3 teams. My son plays for them.

No, offers have not been given out for some age groups. It could take a couple more weeks for offers to go out for current players.

You either buy into the style of coaching or you don’t.

Achilles has the following age groups in MLS Next: U13, U14, U16, and U19. I am not sure why U15 got taken away a couple of years ago, but there are other MLS Next clubs that only have certain years (not aware of any here in DC area but just did quick look and saw some outside of this region that similarly have U14 and U16 and no U15). Basically, for kids who would otherwise be in U15, they will train with and compete for spots to play up on U16 team (similarly, the U19 team likely will be a range of younger players). This year, the Achilles U16 team was in large part comprised of what would have been the U15 team (i.e., kids playing up a year).
