You go because you've move beyond this toxic influence. Be supportive of the bride. Stick close to your spouse. Minimize your contact with the cult leaders. Leave as soon as you politely can. Have an escape plan or a refuge where you can go if it's too overwhelming.
Don't worry about how you look. These people no longer have an influence over your life and this probably will be the last time you see most of them, so who cares what they think.

I will be talking to my therapist about this on Friday, but I found out on Saturday night and waiting a full week for a therapy appointment when I’m so distraught is a long time!

And to the person who asked, yes, I have a psychiatrist. She did diagnose me with DID, but she thinks it’s a good thing that my host part is always out instead of letting other personalities take over completely.

I found that the greatest healing comes at random moments; driving to work, sitting through my kid’s piano lessons.

I’ve had a lot of healing from childhood trauma, but I think I have trauma from Walt’s church/cult and I’m not ready to be with those people again…but I want to be supportive of my best friend.

OP you can afford the $$$ injectable stuff so go for it. Doubling your weight is not healthy and you have to know that.

If this is a troll- I don't get it? Maybe pick up a hobby or something that takes you away from creating online drama. There are better ways to live your life.

À better troll would be to drop details subtly in your replies. You kind of did with the MOH thing, but it would have been better to be vague in the initial post about the Did stuff and let that unfold on the comments. Naming your characters was also too much.
