Kensington to Leesburg…100% worth it in every way. DS found a perfect fit, awesome coach and teammates. Had to get away from the insanity of BSC

2.5 hours My life for ~7 years wouldn't change anything except for regret not doing it in an electric car. My relationship with my DC is as good as anyone could hope and it will soon be over. Still got lots of ife to live, whats 7 years in the grand scheme of all this

20-25 minute one way max for regular team practice. Most parents don't have time to spend 2.5 hours for one team practice (1.5 hours for practice and an hour for commute). Plus, if they drive is about 30 minutes you can't return home. Have to stay and wait.

30-40 minutes and totally worth it. The upgrade to a bigger/better club has provided my daughter a lot more opportunity than she would have otherwise had. She's never been happier from a soccer POV. And honestly, the commute provides structured time to hang out, talk through school assignments, pick up food on the way home, etc.

30-40 minutes. IMO, it's not worth it. I tried to get DC to switch back to the local club, which is 5-10 minutes from our house, but I was outnumbered by DC and DH. This all probably ends in HS soccer anyway, and both clubs would get DC there.

Approximately 40 minutes to Long Bridge from Tysons Corner. There are closer clubs, but the closer clubs are not as great for boy teams so we have found it worthwhile. DS has enjoyed the experience. Going to do it again next year.

30-40 minutes. Not worth it. At all. Thankfully kid switched sports and now walks to practice!

My DD's former club practiced walking distance for our house. Last year, switched clubs and it is 20-25 minute drive. It is totally worth it for better coaching, less drama, nicer girls, better overall experience.

Sure, you keep telling yourself that if it makes you feel better.

I'm telling you what happened from our experiences.

No wishful thinking here.

Kid 1: 50mins there; 30 back (crossing state lines); 3x/week. Parent 1 does this one.

Kid 2: 20-30 each way with heavy carpooling; in-county; Parent 2 does their share of the carpooling.

Both big clubs and kids are happy where they are. It is tiring though!

Same here. We lucked out with a great club 20 minutes away. We know people who drive over an hour each way to play on our team. Most of the team is focused on playing in college (8th graders).
