I do that Georgetown Pike commute frequently, and it’s never taken more than half an hour. You are just straight up lying here.

My sister went there 14 years ago. She got a lot of opportunities while there, including getting an internship with John Kerry. She also got into an ivy league and so did her friend. She has a very successful career. 14 years ago the school was rated at 2/10. The average test scores were very low. However, that just made it easier for the good kids to stand out and get into great colleges.

I specifically asked Calvert if anyone was making Madison implement this or it was the decision of the Madison administration. She said it was Madison's decision. At the time, Reid was just coming in to FCPS and Madison admin thought she might shut it down, but Reid hasn't. Calvert has promoted SBG to other schools by inviting other administrations to a weekend program held at Madison that touted how great it is. I think Herndon sis the same thing this year.

She should be fired for taking a school that was pretty good and making it not so great.

It is not SBG that is bad, it is how it had been implemented in FCPS schools. What had been done in Herndon is really bad.

The principal from Loudoun you’re referring to is the current principal of Herndon MS, not HS. She is terrible

I have friends whose kids go to Herndon and they say it’s bad. Before this year it wasn’t but the principal tried to make a name for herself and went to a whole new grading process. The teachers hated it and The students were all confused and were doing poorly. The parents spoke up and the principal got embarrassed that her big plan failed. She lied to the parents publicly and made the PTA all quit. Then decided in May to allow every student to take as many retakes as they want which is a nightmare for the teachers. So all in all it’s bad. Maybe the principal will be fired and the school can get a fresh start.
