Are you kidding? I think that would be so en vogue in a cool Brooklyn way. Have fun marketing it. Make a social account where he’s holding a huge arrangement of pink and white freesias and peonies while wearing one of those cool denim work aprons with leather accents, tats on full view.

Why would anyone care what he looks like? When I am buying something, I care about whether the person in the shop is knowledgeable and available to help me. I'm not interested in their looks or anything else about them beyond that, it is a quick transaction.

It wouldn’t be too bad actually. Petite women have no issues with overweight women.


On DCUM. it's OK to discriminate in hiring against men for their looks, but not women.


It’s about doing what’s best for your business.
A bearded man covered in tattoos and piercings would be an excellent hire for a tattoo shop. Not so much as a receptionist at a luxury hotel.
That’s just the reality of life and business.

I'm an older, fairly conservative DCUM poster -- your description of your husband wouldn't bother me one bit! When I go to a store or shop, I'm just appreciative of someone's talents and skills when advising/helping me. Your husband sounds great!

I think his appearance would be an advantage rather than a disadvantage. I'm not into tattoos personally but it would not put me off in the slightest.

A nursery sounds better and more along the lines of what you mentioned growing plants. Many of them have land and greenhouses where they grow plants Florists arrange flowers. Is he into that? Not sure it matters about the tattoos but he'd have to have some artistry to do well there.
