On there, it was mentioned that Shelton caught him having an affair which promoted his obsession of knocking threes times so he warns everyone he's there. When they had George flirting with the neighbor, I was wondering if that's where they were going, but it was dropped. So it was odd when they had Sheldon doing the 3 knocks on the last 2 episodes. I wasn't expecting the death, though. In fact, I had forgotten about it and just assumed it would happen after YS but before TBBT. They don't address a cause, nor is it even needed. But it occurred to me, he just had vasectomy, so maybe threw a clot? Moot point.

My impression from TBBT was that George wasn't a great father, but I don't feel that Young Sheldon portrayed him that way.
