Check out all the YouTube influencers that used to be vegan and then switched to the carnivore diet. While I don't think the carnivore diet is ideal, I think it says something that these people felt so much better when adding meat back to their diet that they decided to switch to only eating meat. Just stick to a balanced diet and try to buy your meat from sustainable and humane sources.

Being a vegan is about not wanting to eat animals, not about health and fitness. It is an incredibly unhealthy diet. If you believe eating animals is cruel then go for it, if you are doing it to get healthy, good luck!

The fact that you need so many supplements should tell you that it's not a healthy lifestyle

Best of luck OP! I was vegan for a few years and went back to vegetarian. I had to give myself weekly B12 injections for a while to get my levels back up and that’s when I realized it wasn’t for me.

I took the vegan road for one year and came back pale, with vitamin B12 deficiency. It was not the best road to be healthier. Now I’m on the Mediterranean road, which only has two red meat stops per month.
Just proceed with caution, OP.

This is the comment of the week. Maybe the comment of the year. Well done, PP.

Like what?

^ I'm not a vegan and I drink the same shakes after every workout. Or usually during. Don't act like it's only vegans who use protein shakes like muscle milk or owyn.

That can be avoided if OP plans out meals to maximize protein at each meal. I've GAINED muscle while on a weight loss diet as a vegan by prioritizing protein at every meal. I start my day with a high protein vegan shake like this one.

This book has medical advice on how to best supplement for health. A vegan diet lacks key nutrients.

https://www.amazon.com/Change-Your-Diet-Mind-Powerful/dp/1538739070/

I'd be a bit wary, OP. The risks of osteoporosis and sarcopenia are real even with consuming the most bioavailable protein, which is animals, once we reach midlife.

False.

There is a huge contingent of vegan bodybuilders.

You just need to be smart and balance your meals.

Watch the twins study on Netflix. One woman lost 6.5 lbs of muscle in 8 weeks. Even though they tried hard to make you think a vegan lifestyle is superior, it failed miserably
