I didn't dare touch my phone while driving when I was there.
How does this work if you're using the GPS app on your phone?
DP.
What? The GPS is hands free. Stop fiddling with it when you're stopped at a light!

Does it though? When this kind of distraction causes a chain reaction that results in a crash or a pedestrian getting hit?

Are you talking to yourself in this post? Who here is going to listen to you? Who cares what you have to say?

Put your phone away, Susan.

I don’t get on my phone at red lights, but I also DGAF if you honk at me after 1 second. I’m going to make sure the intersection is clear (or be certain that no pedestrians are crossing before I make a turn). I value my and my family’s life more than whether the person 4 cars back has to wait through another light cycle.
Also how can OP even see that the person 3 cars ahead of her is on their cell phone? Impatient drivers are just as much of a hazard as people looking at their phone. Leave your house earlier so you don’t have to be rushed and angry at intersections.
Honest question. What on earth are you doing while waiting at a red light then?

This is a good reason. You have a good reason for a pause. It's the jerks on their phones that are ruining it for you.
