Some student wanted to turn a 3-day weekend into a 4-day weekend. Looks like they succeeded for the kids of some overly-paranoid parents.

Agreed. The language used is too vague for me to believe they have identified the student. If that is what I am supposed to summarize then just say it.

No one is requesting the student's identity be revealed. However, clearly stating that the responsible student has been identified (if indeed they have) would undoubtedly reassure students and parents that the issue has been contained, and the school premises are safe for return on Monday. This would allow students to focus on their learning, instead of the issue lingering in students' minds as something unresolved.

Yup, and at another middle school a few days later. It was literally an effort to get out of school that day.

IMO, the “scribbling” is disturbing and FCPS reaction poor. Student staying home.

Yeah. My kid isn’t going. Without more explanation about why they think the threat is low, the photo of the note makes it clear it is disturbing and specific. I understand why they can’t talk more about the investigation, but without more info on why they’ve drawn those conclusions, my kid isn’t going. Even with a major test. You can make it up. It’s like you’re sick.

Apparently the it wasn't just scribbling, it was deep, disturbing, and seriously concerning. Does anyone have the message from the bathroom graffiti?

There is zero chance that a student who wanted to shoot up a school would announce that they were going to do it on a bathroom wall.
