We had planned on being able to full pay public university, and this school does sometimes give enough money to bring it in line with what public school costs. Nobody caved for our appeals so far. I think yields are going to be hurting this year. More waitlist movement.
I am crossing my fingers because this isn’t a school that most on this board would even consider and they do seem to throw a lot of talent money around (performing arts). As kids turn them down for other programs, they have more money for remaining candidates-or at least that is what we are hoping for. I know this has happened for others in the past. Wish us luck.

Talk to the college about that. If they say no, you have to get loans, like everyone else. Haven't you been managing your own bills all your life? Who exactly do you think is going to pay it?? The entitled attitude is puzzling.

its not that at all. The NPCs says a certain amount can be expected from the college but it then doesnt meet the NPC

Exactly this. People called it decades ago - no reason to be "shocked". You pay what you can, and take loans out, like everyone else. I know people literally bragging to anyone who will listen how much their kid will make, but they grift with the best of them.
