"Which" Broadway show, not what.

Six and Hadestown were both hits with my teen (and I enjoyed both shows too)

About Six - I do think it’s a great show however it is basically a concert and costumes. Not necessary to pay Broadway prices for this one - you can see it on tour at a smaller, less expensive venue and get the same experience.
The other shows I listed are bigger productions that are worth seeing on Broadway.

For what it's worth, when she was 14 my daugher would not have wanted Disney, nor probably Wicked. She is now 16 and we saw the Sweeney Todd revival about a month ago. It closes very soon but would probably be on my list if dark/Sondheim is of interest -- Sutton Foster plays Mrs Lovett and is terrific, as is Aaron Tveit. Would also go with Hadestown, Moulin Rouge, maybe Great Gatsby.

The Cursed Child (Harry Potter) was AMAZING. I am not a Broadway show person, nor a Potter person but it was incredible! Six was good, but I wouldn't see it again and Back to the Future was pretty good. I would go see Cursed Child again in a heartbeat - it was mesmerizing. And you don't need to know the Harry Potter story to make sense of it.

& Juliet, I saw it with a friend, loved it and went again with my 12-year-old DD and husband, who both loved it. Now we are taking my DD and some of her friends when it comes to our hometown (I saw it in NYC). Great story, lot of laughs, amazing dancing and songs work fab on Broadway.

My 17 year old LOOOOOVES Moulin Rouge. She loves mash ups of songs and loves the story. Depending on your 14 year old it might be too mature (though my kid watched the movie several years ago (I can't remember how old she was when we watched it together the first time) and has just loved it since then).

Not sure why all the recs for Disney musicals - my 14 yo would definitely not be interested. Much better options available

I've seen Six twice (once in DC and once in NYC with my 10 year old daughter) and loved it both times. She's super into it and the music.

My husband, 10 year old daughter, and I also really loved &Juliet (my 7 year old son was less engrossed).

I don't think you can go wrong with either or both of those if you're looking for something outside the "classic" ones like Lion King, Aladdin, etc.

Another vote for Six! Saw it with my daughter and a few adult relatives. We all loved it!

Some teen boys I know loved Shucked.

Newer shows, especially if she is at all literary - Great Gatsby and the Outsiders (supposedly the most handsome male cast on Broadway - if that’s an appeal at all)

I loved Six and a teenager would, too. I also loved Kimberly Akimbo which is closing soon on Broadway. Hadestown is not my favorite, but it currently has Ani DiFranco in it and I was obsessed with her in my early 20s so maybe a draw for OP.

I took my 16 yr old to see &Julien and MJ
