My kiddo received a VT drawstring bag from Pamplin. No other communication. We will take it and she committed.

They hand out swag at in-person events. Mailing packets to admitted students, a large portion of which will decline admission and throw everything in the trash, seems wasteful. Buy your kid the swag if they’ll be attending and move on.

While your child may be disappointed, I do expect this will become the trend and the rule, not the exception with tuition hitting 100k at some universities. Something has to give.

If he or she attends there will be tons of swag welcome week at the overall university and college/major level.
