It's the hot sandwiches that take forever. I ordered one once and it took forever. Cold sandwiches come out much faster.

Yes, they do! And I get it "mike's way" every time I go into a wegman's. I won't wait 20 min for someone to "slice" some meat while gabbing to friends and taking calls.

At our location (Sterling, VA) it depends on who's working the slicer and the grill. When they have experienced personnel, it goes reasonably quick. Otherwise, it can be quite a wait.

Also, the number of call-in orders will affect the pace.

Not OP, but even when they have their long standing staff, it takes FOREVER. They work at a snails pace.

I know slicing the meat to order is their thing, but does it really make that much of a difference? Seems silly, and really slows things down, to slice every sandwich to order. I get it that fresh sliced is way better than sliced at a facility, vacuum sealed and delivered on a truck, but maybe Jersey Mike’s could slice a couple times throughout the day? That would still be fresh enough, right?


Slicing fresh should not delay the process to the point of waiting an extra 15 minutes after your order should have been ready. Slicing takes a minute per order if that.

It's a decent sandwich for around here and I'm willing to wait a bit. OP how many subs did you order? In the future if it's worth it to you just budget in the extra time

Fallsgrove one is also slow. I don’t think they have a good plan to make sandwiches. Maybe their ingredients are good, but their process stinks. Still, they do GF which my kid needs, so we go there anyway.
