When my HS DS was in MS, he had a friend who was constantly getting in little scraps - sometimes in the cafeteria, sometimes in the hall.
MS boys can be idiots and they typically grow out of it by HS. Typically.
Well, someone just brought a knife to RMHS a few weeks ago in MCPS. Plus, there have been a ton of other issues with weapons and fighting in the bathrooms at other MCPS high schools.
Not sure that the kids do grow out of it. And not just boys, plenty of girl fights also.
Anonymous wrote:Is this a common-ish thing at your middle school? DD comes home maybe once a month and says there was a fight. Does this continue into high school?

Lol
Laugh all you want but it works. Kids know if they misbehave they’re getting suspended.

Or MCPS. Daily occurrence.

Anonymous wrote:It’s because they don’t suspend kids any more. This used to be an automatic suspension.
Anonymous wrote:I teach middle school. We average 2 fights a day. The students plan the fights through text or social media, then all of the students are in the hallway filming the fight. The crowd makes it hard for the adults to get in and break it up.
Search instagram for your school’s name - there are probably accounts created just to post the fight videos.
