I was always on the border of overweight/normal BMI before having kids but once I had my second child I never lost the weight and stayed for the most part obese. I am 53 now with teens so it has been a while that I have been obese. About 16 months ago I really started working on making small changes with a goal of not to be obese. I have lost almost 2 pounds a month, so in total so far I have lost 27 pounds. I am really pleased because it is just so much easier to move and be motivated to go outside and garden or take a walk or just be more active. My ultimate goal is to lose another 27 pounds which will put me finally back to an average BMI. I told a friend how pleased I was and she really didn't get why I was so pleased. Anyone else celebrating making it into the overweight BMI category?
I have eons to go before I hit merely “overweight” but dang I bet it’s exciting! People who have never been large don’t know how nice it feels to not be as large. Good job!
