I’m buying another minivan. We looked at just about every midsize 3 row SUV and none are as roomy as a minivan. A suburban/expedition won’t fit in my garage, plus $$$$. So another minivan it is. I just can’t sacrifice comfort and convenience for coolness.

Welded steel? Are they getting rid of body on frame?

-Small SUV, hybrid or plug-in hybrid (not ICE, not full electric)
-AWD
-IIHS Top safety pick+
-Under 50k without sacrificing amenities (not interested in a stripped down base model)

I test drove a Honda CRV hybrid and it was ok but it's bigger than what I want and also failed the new IIHS safety test for rear passenger safety. RAV4 Prime is also too big and boaty.

I wish Mazda CX5 came as a hybrid model. That would solve my problem.

2025 a new model Tucson coming out

HRV?

I ended up with the Hyundai Kona small SUV last year after considering the HRV. I liked test driving it better and it was much cheaper with lots of safety features standard. I had a Honda before that. I’m a little concerned about reliability, but so far so good.

I bought a 2022 Tucson brand new. I drive to work everyday like a 1.5 hour round trip. It has never broke or gave a problem, I know not that long but first Hyundai and I bought base model for 26k

Not seeing the + on Subarus. Disappointed.

Any insight on this?

I can't decide what I want. I'm looking at sedans and small SUVs.

Agree that the CR-V feels too big for me. The HR-V is a better size but the lack of a rear armrest/cup holder is (oddly?) a deal breaker for me. I think the Forester feels bigger than it really is. (Its about 2 inches shorter and narrower than the CR-V, 2024 models). I really liked the Hyundai Kona size but question the reliability of the brand.

I have a 2023 CR-V and feel like it is too big. I feel like they add a few inches with every redesign. When we reach the empty nest phase, we'll downsize with or next purchase.

2025 Kia Carnival hybrid this summer. Swore I would never drive a mini van but after borrowing my parent’s van for a month I’m sold. Little kids and sliding doors! And I like the styling of the Carnival.
