In what world is a 3.7/1350 kid a "B-" student? Especially one that has taken Calc BC. What was his grade in that class? Any C's on his transcript?

If he is open to larger universities, it will open many options up (VT, Syracuse, Indiana, Penn State, Delaware, Uconn, plus Alabama, Michigan State as safeties).

For smaller/mid-size, Elon, Providence, Ithaca, Marquette. Gonzaga. It's hard getting mid size that have strong sports, so look to some of the jesuit schools for that.

It’s amazing how low stress the college search can be if you’re aiming for non T50. My DS’s list for next year most selective college admits more than 1/3 of applicants. Most are at or near 50. Some 75-80. And he’d be happy at any of them.

Go, Flyers! My son is a junior at Univ of Dayton. Received a lot of merit, which made it equal to the cost of an in-state school (we're in Maryland), very loyal alumni, and the basketball team was in the NCAA Tournament this year. And if he wants to participate in sports, there's a very active and varied intramural sports program.

Around 8,000 undergrads and a very nice and manageable campus.

Sorry, I should have been clearer. I mean 3.7 weighted GPA. I don't think that is very strong for FCPS.
