Our Proform gets so much use it’s on the second motor! The original burned out after about 14 years but had a 15 year warranty, so the company sent us a replacement motor for free and DH installed it. I use it 5-7 days/week. If I’m walking or running alone, which is usually the case, I prefer to be indoors so I can read an ebook or watch TV. DH uses it less often, maybe 1-2 times/week.

I only use them at the gym when it's really awful out and DH walks our dog, or if I am recovering from an injury. I would not want one in my house.

I use mine all the time! I honestly think the bells and whistles of fancy treadmills are really overblown. I got a rehabbed one from a local place that was getting rid of floor inventory and its been working fine for a few years. I mean as long as it moves and can incline, what more do you need really. If you have knee or joint issues and need a more sophisticated shock system for your joint health that is one thing. I also think the benefits of ifit/peloton are worth it if you're going to take the classes and really get into it on that front, but I like to watch netflix on the treadmill. So for $500 I got my used treadmill and a low budget tablet computer and have a full screen down there to watch what I want. I agonized over whether I should have got something fancier and I have not thought about it at all once since the purchase.

I wouldn't get one expecting it will create the habit for you though. You have to make the effort to use it.

I used mine 6 times per week (usually walked 5 or 6 miles at 10% incline) for 3 years, but gave it up when I moved and didn't have space. I'm very picky about weather and prefer solitary, monotononous exercise so it was a good choice for me. I've switched to a Peloton bike which I also love (and it's so quiet!)

I had one in a bedroom (3rd floor) and hated it because it would get so hot. After I moved to a larger house, I got another for a room on the main floor, I use it 4-5x a week. It helps that I can watch my kids play while I'm exercising.

I have a treadmill and found that I use it when it's too hot outside, when I need to stay close to home for family reasons, don't have time to make it to the gym our outdoor exercise. My preference is always to exercise outside. But sometimes things don't work in my favor, having the treadmill easily available has been a wonderful thing. As my kids got older they have also started using it. I feel like I have gotten my money's worth out of it. There are times when it doesn't get as much use, but as a family we all circle back to using it.

Ours us heavily used I got a Nordic track, and I use the iFIT app to do hikes with different trainers. My husband started using the iFIT app and now he does a lot of long walks while watching shows on his iPad rather than doing the trainers.

I love the iFit as the treadmill reacts to whatever's happening in the hike. If you're going up a hill, the to treadmill will elevate; downhill it will go down, if the traner wants you to go faster or slower the treadmill well, go as according. And you can override whatever the setting is if it's going too fast or too slow for you.

Not OP but which one do you have? I’m interested in one for walking on an incline specifically.
