Some former Amazon executives took over the C-suite of SunPower, one of the world's largest solar panel manufacturers. They made a variety of questionable decisions, including selling off their proprietary manufacturing technology ("Hey, you think the thing that keeps our company on top might be worth keeping or should we try to goose the stock price by grabbing some cash?")

Like any good corporate story, it winds down with them getting caught doing some shady accounting. The stock price has crashed and they are jumping ship with their lovely golden parachutes.

The smartest guys in the room, for sure.

How quickly people forget that the OG tech CEOs were ruthless. Bill Gates (before Melinda) was not charitable nor noted for his kindness.

Paul exited Microsoft quickly and dedicated the rest of his life to improving Seattle and the world. Could not be a more stark contrast.
