I listened to the first episode of the divorce podcast today and it was so tedious and didn't reveal anything other than he lied about where he parked his car the night he met her so he could spend more time with her. In a nutshell, does anyone know why they got divorced so quickly? She said he wasn't physically abusive?
I haven’t listened to the podcast but I did watch her spin-off, a million years ago. It was obviously a long time ago, but I remember having the impression that she just didn’t seem to like being married. It seemed like she latched onto Jason because he was stable, but the whole thing got old for her quickly.
I remember some episode where she was basically talking about how much she was struggling with the fact that he wanted his parents to spend some time with the baby. I know that in-law visits can be quite taxing, believe me, but taken in context of everything, it just seemed like she had no desire to be part of a larger, functioning family. I’d imagine that a functioning family was probably triggering for her, given how she grew up.
In another episode, she was crying about how Jason basically told her she was damaged and how she thought that was so over the top of him. He was probably at the end of his rope. Like someone else pointed out upthread, she’s burned through many many many people.

Anonymous wrote:My guess is the divorce took that long to finalize because they both had the means to keep fighting, over everything. DH has a friend who spent $100k in attorney fees fighting over which parent could pick up the daughter from dance class on Thursday nights. When you have the money and the desire, you can fight over anything.

People told her what she wanted to hear. She paid for assistants/companionship, she ate up her fans’ praise and never had anyone push back.
Let’s review, Bethenny, you are great and ALL these people are awful:
Both parents (sadly, true)
All like 8 of the men you were married/engaged to (I know she’s been married twice, and one of her books said she was engaged 5 times before that, and she was engaged at least twice after her last marriage)
Andy Cohen
Basically all the RHONY
Assistants who used to be your best friend/then you’ve had at least two never speak to you again
Various business partners
Really, it’s all these people, always, and it’s never you?
In fairness, it could be? When you’re raised by awful people and don’t do the work to heal, it’s not uncommon to repeat dynamics with similarly awful ppl. Of that list, the people the general public have seen the most are the other RHONY, and they are all pretty terrible ppl.
