I bet you have an idea and could name a few.

I do, but the whole point was to get outside input. The list pretty much matches what I was thinking.

The problem is with your question...if anyone lists a school that you don't know...well, doesn't that by default not make your list because you don't know it?

All you people saying Vandy, Nashville is NOT warm for the majority of months college students are in school. It starts getting cool in October, and lows below freezing can persist into early April. Sure, it's warm in comparison to the Ivies or Michigan, and you will get some random 70+ degree days during the winter. But if you want a true "warm weather school," you need to be looking in Florida, Texas, Cali, or the Deep South.

I don't think that exists because in reality only a handful of colleges have that sort of familiarity.

If regional familiarity is enough, your options open up considerably. Also, think about who specifically you are trying to impress with the college choice. Does it matter if someone in rural Idaho isn't impressed with your college choice? If you're trying to impress the HR department of a possible employer regional familiarity is enough.

Duke, Vanderbilt, Rice, USC, University of Texas - Austin.

That's it. I don't think of central and northern California as warm.
