Right now I make around $300K, which includes base ($190K), bonus ($45K), and equity vesting in calendar year ($60K$). If I went back to office elsewhere I could probably get at least $50K more but if I factor in commuting costs, drycleaning, extra childcare, and dog walking I’m probably losing money or breaking even. The only way I’ll go back to the office with young kids is if I get paid like $200K more. Even then I don’t know if the stress would be worth it. And I want to see my kids grow up.
