I'm a 47 year old public interest attorney and I make less than $80k.

I'm always surprised when I see people here in DCUM talking about making 200k+.

I always wonder... is this what you do? come to DCUM and post on a anonymous website? really?

Imagine a world WITHOUT people not making 80k plus?

Teachers, police officers, Admins, support staff, restaurant servers, Construction workers, Nannies, artists, librarians, Coaches, etc.

Half the people on your list make over $80k/yr. You are out of touch.

Maybe seasoned employees with years of experience but at 30? Ridiculous! You are out of touch!

I'm 35 and just hit $80k, and was excited!

People who make under $80K are too busy to load around on DCUM bragging about their money.

Especially under 35. Their salaries get larger and a lot of jobs have room for promotions. It’s a good salary for early 30’s.

Totally normal. It's entirely dependent on your job and your location.

At 31 I was at 115 +65 bonus, that was 15 years ago.
Today I pay someone 100K in fly over country she is younger than you.

Who the F cares about your anecdote and stop lying. Love these liars who never write what exactly they do to earn the money.

In the DMV too. Average salary is about $60K. Look it all the local government workers, federal employees. It would be impossible that everyone is making $400,000 / year. All the other typical businesses aren’t paying all their employees mid six figures. People here can exaggerate. Your child is doing great.

OP don't be so naïve and believe people in DCUM bragging about making over 100k, it is very normal to make 80k or less as a 30 yr. old.

If you're making less than that, then time to update your resume and start looking for better opportunities else where...

I'm in the camp of we need everyone. I'm married to a teacher.
But why wouldn't we be here. We've made it and we have the time

That's the news from Lake DCUM, where all the women are 10/10, all the men are narcissists, and all the children are above average.

The women all have a Jaguar in the driveway, mink on their back, Tiger in their bed and a jackass to pay for it all
