In this case the union and parents are aligned in what they are asking of school administrators there: protections, accountability, transparency, and communication.

Are you staying there are ongoing concerns. And having a union has not had any impact on addressing the concerns?

Post unionization MV teachers seem more supported...and hopefully, now that ED is going, positive changes can continue to happen. My student will be attending DCI and i'm happy the teachers there unionized, sounds like the schools faced/face similar issues.

Where is the pay info?
Don’t believe people on DCUM who obviously have no kids at the school. Teachers at Mundo did not leave and supported the union and stayed. They have gotten significant raises, more prep time, PD support, classroom support. Turnover has been very low since the formed the union.
It’s good DCI teachers have formed a union. It will give them collectively more negotiating power at the table.
Posters like above don’t know crap.
They got more pay after the non- unionized teachers at other charters fought for charter teacher pay down at council. Before that unionized Mundo Verde teachers were at the bottom of charter teacher pay. Look it up.

ALL the teachers? 😂
Not sure about right after. For the most recent year per the OSSE report cards, they retained 51% of teachers at one campus and 60% at the other.

Huge shout out to everyone who made this happen and I hope they receive all the support in the world. Our children will be better served if their teachers are respected and treated with dignity!
Anonymous wrote:read any of the mundo posts on DCUM lately - does not seem like "our children will be better served" -just watch enrollment fall - a win for Latin and Basis but not for DCI children

Still are. Pay scales are posted on their website. You can easily find and compare with others.
