What's the difference if a young boy or girl has to be in a male changing hall or women's changing hall, they'll be exposed to nudity and risk of assault. In an era when we are recognizing gender identity and sexual orientation psychology as an important aspect, why push kids any which way?

I prefer to err on the side of keeping children safe, so if that means bringing a tween into the opposite gender room, then so be it. I will just ignore them, and so will my daughter. My own son was changing by himself in the men's, and the room was structured such that I wasn't worried about assault. He has mild special needs. However I am aware that for more serious needs, or differently-structured changing rooms, the calculus night be different.

Bodies are nothing to be ashamed of. This is really my underlying thought. If you feel such shame over your body that you can't bear to have an 11 year old boy see it... I think you're the one with the problem.
