Dream on! Twins and a three year old? That's hardship pay and a minimum of $60/hr.

You have too many young children for a high school or college sitter. Find a nanny who moonlights but be prepared to pay $$$.

Is this for Friday/Saturday night babysitters? $30 is insane. I’ve hired a babysitter every weekend since my oldest was born. $15 is the going rate. If you want them to put the twins to bed- $20. This is way more than minimum wage and they also aren’t paying taxes. We put the youngest to bed, then we leave and they play with our oldest and then put her to bed. And then they watch tv for hours or study.

I think there are too many Nannie’s on this board skewing the wages.

We pay $25 for two kids, same ages. I would put out feelers and then ask for their rate. I imagine $25-$30 would be fair

Insultingly low

And yet, I have no trouble finding babysitters. Dcum is this weird bubble.

Definitely. We have 3 kids ourselves and pay $25 for four hours at a time with no issues.

I always put my babies to sleep and then went out. I pay $15 and babysitters are thrilled. I use local girls in our neighborhood

I think you could do $30-$35 an hour.

I think $30, but I know my nanny would ask $40 for prime time weekend hours. Get some numbers of nannies in your neighborhood and start asking?

When I had a 0, 2, and 4yo it was easy to find someone for $25-30 an hour (3hr minimum even if we weren't out for 3 hours). Invest in scheduling something regular to keep them on the rotation so you're not having to train and get everyone used to a new person every.time you want to go out

$30????? That is a one child rate. Are you doing it out of goodness of your heart, or just charity?

I'm a nanny and would do it for $30 with my usual 3hr minimum. I think you'll be fine funding appropriate adult sitters for this.

My nanny would do it for 30.

Thank god there's one person here who's intelligent. Just leave one or two on a mountaintop, OP. Or ship them off to boarding school and let them come back when they're no longer young. Perhaps 24-26 years old?
