Having watched a girl get beat down on the playground by Brookland Middle students this saddens me deeply but doesn't shock me. And, yes, I called the police.

My Latin kid (graduated) used to take the metro every day. Horrifying. They are going to need to put an all hands on deck safe passage police presence at that stop for all the kids commuting to school.

Is there a reason that the Metro does not have high, metal, floor to ceiling gates gates, and multiple high, metal, floor to ceiling turn styles, like parts of Europe? Is it a fire code violation, because if so, that is too bad.
